Get Smart is an American television spy comedy created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry that ran from 1965 to 1970, starring Don Adams as inept secret agent Maxwell Smart of the fictional agency CONTROL, working alongside his more capable partner Agent 99, played by Barbara Feldon, against the rival organization KAOS. Conceived as a parody of the spy film and television craze that followed the James Bond films and series such as The Man from U.N.C.L.E., it built its comedy around Smart's gadget-laden but bumbling approach to espionage and around a series of running catchphrases. It won multiple Emmy Awards during its run and remains one of the best remembered American television comedies of the spy genre.
