Gene Roddenberry

Eugene Wesley Roddenberry Sr. was an American television screenwriter and producer who created the science fiction series and fictional universe Star Trek. He was born in El Paso, Texas, on 19 August 1921, grew up in Los Angeles, where his father was a police officer, and died on 24 October 1991. He flew 89 combat missions in the Army Air Forces during World War II and worked as a commercial pilot after the war. His honours include the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Within this atlas Gene Roddenberry is credited as the creator of Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
