Amy

Amy is a 2015 documentary directed by Asif Kapadia, tracing the life of English singer Amy Winehouse from her early career through her struggles with substance abuse to her death in 2011, built from more than one hundred interviews together with archival footage and previously unheard recordings. The film follows Winehouse's rise after her debut album Frank and the acclaimed Back to Black, presenting her story largely in her own words and recordings. Amy became the highest grossing British documentary at the UK box office and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, the BAFTA Award for Best Documentary and the Grammy Award for Best Music Film, and it significantly shaped posthumous critical reassessment of Winehouse's artistry.
