Asif Kapadia, born in 1972 in the London Borough of Hackney, England, is a British filmmaker. He is best known for a trilogy of narratively driven, archive-constructed documentaries, Senna, Amy and Diego Maradona. His directing career began in 1997 with The Sheep Thief and continued with The Warrior in 2001. Within this atlas Asif Kapadia is credited as the director of Senna (film), Amy and The Up Series.
