SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron

Television-Originated Franchises

SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera and first aired in September 1993, with TVmaze recording a run on TBS from 11 September 1993 to 4 January 1995. The story follows the feline characters of Megakat City. Its two main characters, Jake Clawson and Chance Furlong, are pilots thrown out of the Enforcers after a mishap, who must work as junkyard auto mechanics to repay the damage. To make amends, Jake designs the Turbokat and the pair become the vigilantes known as the SWAT Kats, Razor and T-Bone. They defend the city against foes such as Dark Kat, Dr. Viper, The Pastmaster, the Metallikats and Hard Drive. TVmaze describes it as a short-lived cartoon, and it is placed here because it began on television.
