Bob the Builder is a British children animated television franchise created by Keith Chapman and produced by HIT Entertainment, first broadcast on BBC One and later CBeebies from 1999 to 2011. The series follows a building contractor named Bob and his team of anthropomorphic construction vehicles as they complete building projects for the people of their town. Its stop motion and later computer animated format and its cast of talking machinery made it a long running staple of British children television and the basis of a wider merchandising and media franchise.
