John Logie Baird showed live moving television images, the head of a ventriloquist's dummy and the face of an office boy, to members of the Royal Institution in his attic workshop at 22 Frith Street, Soho, on 26 January 1926. It is the first demonstration of true television, moving images with tonal gradation, before witnesses.
