William Denby Hanna was an American animator, voice actor and musician, born in Melrose, New Mexico Territory, on 14 July 1910 and died on 22 March 2001. Hanna and Joseph Barbera co-created Tom and Jerry and founded the animation studio and production company Hanna-Barbera, with Hanna providing the vocal effects for the title characters of Tom and Jerry.
