David Friedman, known professionally as David Benioff, born in New York City on 25 September 1970, is an American novelist, screenwriter and producer who has been active since 2001. Along with his collaborator D. B. Weiss he is best known for co-creating Game of Thrones, which ran from 2011 to 2019, the HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin's series of books.
