Robert Alexander Spiers was a Scottish television director and producer, born in Glasgow on 27 September 1945 and died on 8 December 2008. He worked on many sitcoms, including Dad's Army and Are You Being Served?, and won two British Academy Television Awards, for Fawlty Towers and Absolutely Fabulous. He also directed the films That Darn Cat and Spice World, both in 1997. Within this atlas Bob Spiers is credited as the director of Fawlty Towers and Dad's Army.
