This child group of South Asian Cinema collects that broader group's members whose own description names the Tamil language, the Chennai-centered Kollywood film industry distinct from Hindi-language Bollywood, including action and thriller vehicles built around Tamil-industry stars and their Hindi remakes. It is kept apart from this parent group's other three children purely by language/industry, the axis this atlas's data most reliably supports for Indian cinema, and from Other Indian-Language Cinema, whose members name a different or unspecified regional industry.
