Scott Pilgrim is a graphic novel series written and illustrated by Bryan Lee O'Malley and published by Oni Press in six black-and-white volumes between 2004 and 2010, later reissued in color by Fourth Estate. The story follows Scott Pilgrim, a slacker bassist in a Toronto rock band, as he begins dating American delivery worker Ramona Flowers and discovers he must defeat her seven evil exes in combat to continue the relationship, a premise the series uses to blend magic realism, video game logic and romantic comedy while its characters confront their own pasts. The series developed a substantial cult following and was adapted into the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
