Bryan Lee O'Malley, born on February 21, 1979, is a Canadian cartoonist who is best known for the Scott Pilgrim series of graphic novels, which he wrote and illustrated across six digest-size volumes between 2004 and 2010. Beyond comics, he also performs as a musician under the alias Kupek. His career illustrates how a self-contained independent comic series from a single author can grow into a wider media property, and his name is tied to Scott Pilgrim in the way a creator is tied to a franchise.
