Tokyo Ghoul

Manga and Anime-Originated Franchises

Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha's seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump from September 2011 to September 2014 and collected into fourteen volumes, with a sequel series, Tokyo Ghoul:re, continuing the story through 2018. The manga follows Ken Kaneki, a college student transformed into a half ghoul after a near fatal encounter, who must navigate an uneasy and often violent coexistence between humans and flesh eating ghouls while struggling to hold on to his own humanity. The franchise has since been adapted into anime television series and films.
