Silent Hill

Silent Hill is a Japanese survival horror video game franchise created by Keiichiro Toyama and developed by Team Silent, first published by Konami in 1999. The games are primarily set in the fictional American town of Silent Hill, a place plagued by supernatural events, dense fog, and monstrous manifestations of the characters own psychological trauma. The franchise is known for its atmosphere of psychological horror rather than pure action, with player characters typically ordinary people rather than trained fighters. Beyond the original run of games, Silent Hill has expanded into film adaptations, a television option, and later entries and remakes, with a new installment, Silent Hill f, released in 2025.
