Madden NFL

Video-Game-Originated Franchises

Madden NFL is an American football video game franchise developed by EA Orlando and published under Electronic Arts EA Sports label, named for the Pro Football Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster John Madden. It became the only officially licensed National Football League video game series in 2004, a position it held until 2022, and its yearly releases have modeled real teams, players, statistics and playbooks alongside broadcast style commentary. The franchise had sold more than 150 million copies and generated over 4 billion dollars in sales by the early 2020s, making it one of the most commercially successful sports video game series ever produced.
