The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet is a radio situation comedy starring the real-life married couple Ozzie Nelson and singer Harriet Nelson, launched on CBS on October 8, 1944 and later carried by NBC and ABC through its final broadcast in June 1954, with 402 episodes produced across its run. The show began as a comedy about the Nelsons' own family life and, after its fifth year, began including their real sons David and Ricky as characters. Its success as a family-based format helped demonstrate the Nelsons' appeal beyond music performance and led directly to the long-running television series of the same name that followed from 1952 to 1966.
