William Moulton Marston, who also used the pen name Charles Moulton, was an American psychologist who lived from 9 May 1893 to 2 May 1947. With his wife Elizabeth Holloway he invented an early prototype of the polygraph, and he was also a self-help author and comic book writer who created the character Wonder Woman. Two women, his wife and their partner Olive Byrne, greatly influenced that creation, and he was inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006.
