Ron Howard

Ron Howard, born Ronald William Howard in 1954, is an American filmmaker and actor whose career moved from child star to acclaimed director over six decades. He first became known playing young Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show and later Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. As a director he won the Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director for A Beautiful Mind in 2001, and his other films include Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon, Cinderella Man, and Rush. Howard has received two Academy Awards, seven Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, and two Grammys, and he co-chairs the production company Imagine Entertainment.
