Paul Thomas Anderson

Paul Thomas Anderson is an American filmmaker born in Los Angeles in 1970 who works as a director, screenwriter, producer, and cinematographer. He is the only person to have won the Academy Award for Best Director along with top directing honors from the Berlin, Cannes, and Venice film festivals. His films include Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, The Master, and Phantom Thread, and his 2025 film One Battle After Another won him the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Anderson has received three Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and four BAFTAs over his career.
