Milcho Manchevski

Milcho Manchevski is a Macedonian-American film director, photographer and artist. His film Before the Rain is among the works recorded in this atlas. The published biography of Manchevski is brief, and this entry restates what it states: that he is a Macedonian-American film director, photographer and artist, working across film and still photography as well as in the wider visual arts. Manchevski's dual identity, Macedonian and American, is the main fact the published lead gives about where his work belongs, and it frames his films as part of Balkan cinema and of international film culture at once.
