Michael Francis Moore, born in Flint, Michigan, on 23 April 1954, is a progressive American film director, producer, screenwriter and author whose work frequently addresses social, political and economic topics. He first became publicly known for his award-winning debut documentary Roger & Me, a critical look at the downfall of the automotive industry in Flint and Detroit in the 1980s.
