Mamoru Hosoda, born in Kamiichi, Toyama, on 19 September 1967, is a Japanese filmmaker and animator who has been active since 1991. He is known for the short films that made up Digimon: The Movie in 2000, for The Girl Who Leapt Through Time in 2006 and for Summer Wars in 2009, and he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film at the 91st Academy Awards.
