Heinz Emigholz

Heinz Emigholz is a German filmmaker, actor, artist, writer and producer, born on 22 January 1948 in Achim, near Bremen. He lives and works in Berlin and on Malta. Over several decades he has built a wide-ranging body of film and artistic work, and he has also made performance art. He has appeared as an actor in the films of other directors, among them Cynthia Beatt, Silke Grossmann, Stefan Hayn, Birgit and Wilhelm Hein, Ken Jacobs, Sheila McLaughlin, Sandra Nettelbeck, Elfi Mikesch, Lior Shamriz, Joseph Vilsmaier and Klaus Wyborny. His career is a good example of an artist-filmmaker who moves between directing, writing, producing and acting rather than keeping to a single role in the film industry.
