George Roy Hill was an American film director, writer, producer and actor, born in Minneapolis on 20 December 1921, who died on 27 December 2002. His films include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid of 1969 and The Sting of 1973, both starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford, and both earned him nominations for the Academy Award for Best Director. He won for the latter, and he was active from 1946 to 2002. Within this atlas George Roy Hill is credited as the director of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Playhouse 90.
