Farhan Akhtar, born in Mumbai on 9 January 1974, is an Indian actor, filmmaker and singer who works in Hindi films. He is the son of the screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, and in 1999 he established the production company Excel Entertainment together with Ritesh Sidhwani.
