Milton Bill Finger, born on February 8, 1914 and dead by about January 18, 1974, was an American comic book writer who is credited with co-creating the DC Comics character Batman with Bob Kane. He made major contributions as a writer and world builder, yet like other creators of his era he was often given ghostwriter status on comics he created or co-created, including those featuring Batman and the original Green Lantern. In recent years Finger has received recognition for his contributions, and a 1980s audio interview records Kane privately admitting Finger's part in the creation of the character.
