Abbas Kiarostami was an Iranian film director, screenwriter, poet, photographer and film producer, born in Tehran on 22 June 1940 and died on 4 July 2016. An active filmmaker from 1970, he was involved in the production of over forty films, including shorts and documentaries. His notable films include Where Is the Friend's Home?, Close-Up, Through the Olive Trees and Taste of Cherry. Within this atlas Abbas Kiarostami is credited as the director of Close-Up and A Taste of Cherry.

Taste of Cherry (Persian: طعم گیلاس..., Ta’m-e gīlās...) is a 1997 Iranian minimalist drama film written, produced, edited, and directed by Abbas Kiarostami, and starring Homayoun Ershadi as a middle-aged Tehran man who drives through a city suburb in search of someone willing to carry out the task of burying him after he commits suicide.
