The Fox Broadcasting Company is an American commercial broadcast television network launched on 9 October 1986 as a rival to the established Big Three networks, ABC, CBS and NBC. It became the most successful of the so called fourth networks attempted in American television, and was the highest rated network in the 18 to 49 age demographic for several seasons in the 2000s and again in 2020 and 2021, and the most watched American network overall during the 2007 to 2008 season. Fox operates today as the flagship broadcast property of Fox Corporation.
