Happy New Year is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language heist action comedy film written and directed by Farah Khan and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, distributed worldwide by Yash Raj Films. It stars Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and Jackie Shroff in a story where Charlie assembles a team of non-dancers to compete in a dance contest at a Dubai hotel as cover for a diamond heist; the project had originally been planned in 2005 before being shelved for years.
