All Hindi and Bollywood Cinema: 1970s

This child group collects Hindi and Bollywood Cinema members released in the 1970s. At present it holds a single member, Sholay (1975), Ramesh Sippy's landmark action-adventure "curry western" widely regarded as one of the most influential and commercially successful Hindi films ever made, credited with defining the masala-film formula of blending action, comedy, romance and melodrama that shaped mainstream Hindi cinema for decades afterward. At one member it sits far under this atlas's oversized-group threshold; a later lane minting further 1970s Hindi and Bollywood titles into this atlas will add to this group rather than needing a new one.
