Y Tu Mama Tambien is a 2001 Mexican coming-of-age film directed by Alfonso Cuaron, following two teenage boys who invite an older woman on an impromptu road trip across Mexico, set against the backdrop of the country's political life at the close of the twentieth century. Blending frank sexuality with dark comedy and social commentary delivered through an unseen narrator, the film earned Cuaron and his co-writer Carlos Cuaron an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay and is widely regarded as one of the defining Mexican films of its era.
