Paris, Texas (film)

Paris, Texas is a 1984 drama and road film directed by West German filmmaker Wim Wenders, with a screenplay by Sam Shepard and L. M. Kit Carson. It follows Travis Henderson, who reappears after a mysterious four year disappearance and reunites with his brother Walt and his son Hunter, then sets out to reconnect with his family and find his estranged wife Jane. The film won the Palme dOr at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival along with the FIPRESCI Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury, and it is now regarded as one of the defining films of both independent cinema and the road movie genre.
