Saga is an ongoing comic book series begun in 2012, written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples and published by Image Comics. It follows Alana and Marko, lovers from opposing sides of a galaxy spanning war between their two civilizations, as they flee both sides' authorities while raising their newborn daughter Hazel, whose adult voice narrates the story in retrospect. The series has become one of the most acclaimed and commercially successful creator owned comics of its era, winning twelve Eisner Awards, seventeen Harvey Awards and the 2013 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, and it is regularly cited for its blending of science fiction and fantasy and its frank treatment of parenthood, war and identity.
