Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs is a 1992 film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino in his feature debut, following a group of professional criminals, known to each other only by assigned color-based aliases such as Mr. White and Mr. Orange, whose diamond heist goes catastrophically wrong, told through a non-linear structure that intercuts the tense aftermath with flashbacks revealing each man's role and the identity of a police informant among them. Its stylized, dialogue-heavy scenes, including its casually violent torture sequence set to a pop song, established Tarantino's voice and out-of-order storytelling as a major influence on independent and mainstream crime films of the 1990s. Made on a low budget, it became a defining film of the era's independent cinema movement.
