Spyder (film)

Spyder is a 2017 Indian action thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by N. V. Prasad. It was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, with Mahesh Babu, S. J. Suryah and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles, and it marked Mahesh Babu's Tamil debut. Murugadoss wrote the Tamil dialogue while the Paruchuri Brothers wrote the Telugu version. A. Sreekar Prasad edited the film, Santosh Sivan was the cinematographer and Harris Jayaraj composed the music. The title was rumoured to be Abhimanyudu or Sambhavami before Spyder was finalised on 18 March 2017. Production began in July 2016, with shooting mainly in Chennai and around Hyderabad and Vizag and the songs filmed overseas, wrapping in August 2017. Spyder was released worldwide on 27 September 2017, received mixed reviews and was a box office bomb, grossing between 92 and 150 crore rupees against a budget of 120 crore.
