Comics Creators

Robert Duncan Low (25 August 1895 to 13 December 1980) was a Scottish comics writer and editor. Employed by D. C. Thomson & Co., he was responsible for the company's line of comics and, as a writer, co-created Oor Wullie and The Broons with the artist Dudley D. Watkins. The atlas records him as the founder of The Beano, so that the long-running British comic can be traced to the editor and writer who stood behind the publisher's comics line.
