Taxi (2015 film)

World and International Narrative Cinema

Taxi is a 2015 Iranian film directed by and starring Jafar Panahi, who drives a taxi through the streets of Tehran picking up passengers and recording their conversations. Panahi made the film while banned by the Iranian government from making movies, filming openly in the city rather than in secret as he had for his two previous films. He was legally barred from leaving Iran, so his niece accepted the Golden Bear on his behalf at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.
