Centipede

Centipede is a 1981 arcade video game developed and published by Atari, in which the player controls a small figure at the bottom of the screen and must shoot a centipede that winds downward through a field of mushrooms, along with spiders, fleas and scorpions that complicate the field. Designed with significant creative input from programmer Dona Bailey, one of the first women to design a commercially released video game, it was notable for its fast, colorful action and for drawing a larger female arcade audience than most games of its era. It became one of Atari's best selling arcade titles and is regarded as a classic of the golden age of arcade games.
