Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes is an American comic strip created by Bill Watterson, syndicated in newspapers from 1985 to 1995, following a mischievous six-year-old boy, Calvin, and his stuffed tiger Hobbes, who is drawn as fully alive and articulate whenever seen through Calvin's own perspective. Watterson negotiated unusual creative control over the strip, including expanded space for inventive full-page Sunday layouts, and largely refused to license the characters for merchandising, a rare stance among successful newspaper cartoonists. Calvin and Hobbes ended at the height of its popularity by Watterson's own choice and is widely regarded by cartoonists and critics as one of the greatest comic strips ever produced.
