Blankets (graphic novel)

Blankets is an autobiographical graphic novel by Craig Thompson, published by Top Shelf Productions in 2003, recounting his childhood in a strict evangelical Christian household in rural Wisconsin and his first love as a teenager. Time magazine ranked it the best comic of 2003 and among the ten best comics of the decade, praising Thompson for setting new bars for the medium in both length and emotional breadth. Fellow cartoonists Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman were among its early champions, with Gaiman calling it probably the most important graphic novel since Jimmy Corrigan, and it is widely credited with helping bring the intimate, book-length autobiographical memoir into the mainstream of American comics.
