Zootopia is a 2016 computer-animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, set in a metropolis inhabited entirely by anthropomorphic mammals. It follows a rookie rabbit police officer and a con artist fox who team up to solve a mystery that exposes prejudice built into the city's social order. The film grossed more than a billion dollars worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing releases of 2016, and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature along with a Golden Globe and multiple Annie Awards. Critics praised its combination of technically advanced animation with an unusually direct message about bias and discrimination for a mainstream family film.
