A Beautiful Mind is a 2001 American biographical drama directed by Ron Howard, adapted by Akiva Goldsman from Sylvia Nasar's 1998 biography. It follows the mathematician John Nash, played by Russell Crowe, as he develops influential work in game theory while contending with schizophrenia, supported by his wife Alicia, played by Jennifer Connelly. The film won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 2002 ceremony, along with Best Director for Howard, Best Supporting Actress for Connelly and Best Adapted Screenplay for Goldsman.
