Peaky Blinders is a British historical crime drama created by Steven Knight, which premiered on BBC Two on September 12, 2013 and stars Cillian Murphy as gang leader Tommy Shelby alongside Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle and Joe Cole. Set in Birmingham in the direct aftermath of the First World War, the series follows the Shelby family's Peaky Blinders gang, loosely based on a real Birmingham urban youth gang active from the 1880s to the 1920s. It ran for six seasons, concluding in 2022, with a feature film sequel, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, following in 2026.
