Money Heist, known in Spanish as La casa de papel, is a Spanish heist crime drama created by Alex Pina. It premiered on the network Antena 3 on May 2, 2017, before Netflix acquired global streaming rights later that year and expanded its audience worldwide. The series follows a mastermind known as the Professor as he orchestrates two audacious heists, first against the Royal Mint of Spain and then the Bank of Spain, with events narrated from the viewpoint of one of his recruited robbers, Tokyo. Originally planned as a limited series, it grew across three seasons and 41 episodes and became one of the most-watched non-English-language series in Netflix history, winning the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
