Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is a British period drama created by Julian Fellowes, broadcast on ITV in the United Kingdom and PBS in the United States from 2010 to 2015 across six series, depicting the aristocratic Crawley family and their domestic servants at a fictional Yorkshire estate from 1912 through 1925. It became the most successful British costume drama since the 1981 serial Brideshead Revisited, earning twenty seven Primetime Emmy nominations after just its first two series, the most for any international television series in the awards' history at that point, and reaching an estimated audience of around 120 million viewers across more than 220 countries. Guinness World Records recognized it as the most critically acclaimed English-language television series of 2011.
