The Price Is Right is an American television game show franchise created by Bob Stewart, Mark Goodson and Bill Todman, in which contestants compete to win prizes by guessing the retail prices of merchandise, with its long-running modern daytime format premiering in 1972 and hosted for over three decades by Bob Barker. The show's recurring pricing games, including Plinko and the large spinning Showcase Showdown wheel, became widely recognized fixtures of American daytime television. It is one of the longest-running game shows in the history of American television.
