Eric Hugh Peter Merriman (6 December 1924 to 2 June 2003) was a British radio and television writer who provided material for numerous comedians, including Frankie Howerd, Terry Scott and Morecambe and Wise. The atlas records him with Barry Took as a writer of the BBC radio comedy Beyond Our Ken, so that the writers behind a landmark of British radio comedy can be traced from the work itself, and so that the move of radio writers into television is visible in the atlas.
