Cavalcade of America

Radio Drama and Broadcast Landmarks

Cavalcade of America is an American radio anthology series sponsored by the DuPont chemical company, broadcast from 1935 to 1953, dramatizing episodes drawn from American history and the lives of notable historical figures in individual half-hour or hour-long installments. The series was produced with unusually high production values for sponsored radio drama of its era, and DuPont used it deliberately to associate its corporate name with patriotic and historical American themes rather than with direct product advertising. Cavalcade of America is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and long-running dramatic anthology series in the history of American sponsored radio.
