TAK, in full Turk Ajansi Kibris, is the news agency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, established on 21 December 1973 by journalist Sait Arif Terzioglu to disseminate news of Northern Cyprus internationally and to distribute foreign news within Northern Cyprus. It is governed by a seven member administrative council and supplies news to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus press, Bayrak Radio Television Corporation and other local outlets, as well as exchanging news with international agencies including Reuters, the Associated Press and Agence France-Presse.
